Laghu Rudra Anushthan
लघु रुद्र अनुष्ठानAn extended Rudram path and Shiva abhishek, with the readings and pandit team confirmed in advance.
Why is this puja performed?
Laghu Rudra is a longer Shiva anushthan with repeated Rudram recitation and abhishek. Families choose it for an important sankalp or an organised Shiva puja. It needs a planned recitation schedule and a pandit team, so we discuss the full arrangements before confirming the price.
A commonly followed count is 121 Namakam readings with the prescribed Chamakam sequence. Confirm the count with the pandit, since local package names are not always used in the same way.
When families arrange it
- A larger family Shiva sankalp
- Shravan or another organised Shiva observance
- Collective prayers for well-being
How the puja is performed
The steps below explain what usually happens. Before you book, the pandit will confirm the readings, their number and any differences at your temple.
Planning the readings and pandit team
The main pandit explains the number of readings, how many pandits will recite and the time needed each day. You receive these details before booking.
Sankalp and preliminary pujan
You sit for the opening sankalp and Ganesh puja. The pandits then complete the other opening pujas in their tradition.
Kalash worship and nyasa
The pandits prepare the kalash and perform the nyasa and Shiva dhyan before starting the main readings.
Scheduled Rudram recitations
The pandit team completes the Namakam and Chamakam readings. The main pandit keeps track of the total across the sessions.
Abhishek and archana
Shiva abhishek and bilva offerings take place at the planned times. We will tell you which sessions your family should attend.
Concluding homa, if booked
If a Rudra homa is included, you sit for the final fire offerings and purnahuti. Check that the homa and its materials are included in the price.
Shanti prayers and completion
The main pandit confirms that all booked readings are complete. You join the closing aarti, receive blessings and share the arranged prasad.
What you and your family do
You usually attend the opening sankalp, selected abhishek sessions and the final offerings. The pandit team completes the full reading schedule.
