Vishnu puja at Vishnupad: what you can arrange

A guide to darshan, Vishnu Archana and Sahasranama Path for families visiting Gaya.

By VayuDharma · Updated 2 November 2026

What would you like to do at Vishnupad?

You can visit Vishnupad for darshan, offer tulsi and flowers, or arrange a puja in your family’s names. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and is known for the sacred footprint worshipped there. Tell us whether you want a short archana or have time for a longer path. You do not need to book a long ceremony simply to offer a prayer.

Archana or Sahasranama Path?

In an archana, the pandit offers tulsi and flowers while reciting Vishnu’s names. Sahasranama Path is the complete reading of the thousand names and takes longer. Satyanarayan Puja and Katha is another ceremony, with puja and five chapters of the katha. Ask where you will sit for each service; a longer reading or katha may use a separate place in Gaya.

What to tell us before you arrive

Send the names to include in the sankalp, gotra if you know it, your date and the number of people attending. Ask what materials we bring and what you need to carry. If you want photos or video at Vishnupad, discuss it directly with our team. We will also confirm the meeting point and the time you should keep free for the puja.
