Vishnu Archana

श्री विष्णु अर्चना

Vishnu naam archana with tulsi and flowers, followed by bhog and aarti.

Gaya45–60 minEstimated from ₹5,100

Why is this puja performed?

You can offer Vishnu Archana when you visit Vishnupad with your family. The pandit recites Vishnu’s names and offers tulsi and flowers on your behalf. People usually choose this puja to pray for peace at home, the well-being of their family, or to thank Bhagwan Vishnu.

An archana is a short puja with names and offerings. If you would like to sit for a longer recitation, you can choose Vishnu Sahasranama Path instead.

When families arrange it

  • A family visit to Vishnupad
  • A birthday, anniversary or thanksgiving
  • Regular Vishnu worship, including Ekadashi

How the puja is performed

The steps below explain what usually happens. Before you book, the pandit will confirm the readings, their number and any differences at your temple.

  1. Names and sankalp

The pandit asks your name, gotra if you know it, and why you are offering the puja. He then helps you take the sankalp with water and flowers.

  2. Ganesh remembrance and Vishnu dhyan

You begin by remembering Ganesh. The pandit then recites the opening prayers to Vishnu and asks you to join him in the prayer.

  3. Gandha and flower offering

Sandal and flowers are offered to Vishnu. At the temple, the pujari will show you which offerings to hand over and which you can make yourself.

  4. Vishnu naam archana with tulsi

The pandit recites Vishnu’s names, offering tulsi or flowers with each name. You can repeat the names after him where he asks you to.

  5. Naivedya and aarti

The fruit or sweets brought for the puja are offered as bhog. You then join the aarti with your family.

  6. Final prayer and prasad

You offer a final namaskar and receive the prasad arranged for the puja. The pandit will tell you when the ceremony is complete.

What you and your family do

You join the sankalp, prayers and aarti. The temple pujari will guide you when it is time to make an offering.
