Griha Pravesh & Vastu Puja

गृह प्रवेश एवं वास्तु पूजा

House-entry worship, Vastu and Navagraha pujan, followed by havan.

Gaya3–4 hoursEstimated from ₹21,000

Why is this puja performed?

Griha Pravesh is the puja held when a family first moves into a new home. You pray for peace and well-being for everyone who will live there. This service includes Vastu Puja, the agreed Navagraha worship and a havan.

Entry customs differ between families and regions. Tell the pandit which tradition you follow, and whether you also want a Satyanarayan Katha.

When families arrange it

  • First entry into a newly built or purchased home
  • Entry after major renovation, where customary
  • A family Vastu-shanti sankalp

How the puja is performed

The steps below explain what usually happens. Before you book, the pandit will confirm the readings, their number and any differences at your temple.

  1. Muhurat and home preparation

Before the day, speak to the pandit about the muhurat and material list. Keep the home, puja area and havan space ready before he arrives.

  2. Entry and threshold worship

You enter the home in the way agreed with the pandit. He guides the doorway puja and any kalash-carrying or other entry custom your family follows.

  3. Sankalp, Ganesh puja and kalash

The sankalp includes the names of the people who will live in the home. Ganesh puja and kalash sthapana follow.

  4. Vastu and Navagraha pujan

The pandit leads Vastu Puja for the home and the Navagraha puja you have booked. You offer flowers, grains and the materials he gives you.

  5. Havan and purnahuti

You and your family offer ahutis as the pandit recites the havan mantras. The havan ends with purnahuti.

  6. Blessing the home and closing customs

Depending on the tradition, puja water may be sprinkled around the home. Aarti and the family’s closing customs complete the ceremony. A katha is arranged separately.
