When families arrange it
- Prayers for health and longevity
- A birthday or family Shiva observance
- A personal sankalp in a difficult period
How the puja is performed
The steps below explain what usually happens. Before you book, the pandit will confirm the readings, their number and any differences at your temple.
Name and japa count
Tell us the name of the person for whom you are praying. The pandit confirms the total japa count, number of pandits and sessions.
Sankalp and Ganesh worship
You join the opening sankalp and Ganesh puja. The pandit begins the anushthan with the customary prayers.
Shiva pujan and dhyan
Shiva puja is performed with the materials arranged for your ceremony. The pandit completes the mantra dhyan before beginning the japa.
Mahamrityunjaya japa
The team recites the mantra in the planned sessions. The 11,000 count is the team total, not 11,000 repetitions by every pandit.
Concluding Shiva offering
When the count is complete, the pandits make the closing Shiva offerings. An abhishek is performed if it was included in your booking.
Homa if agreed, then aarti
If you have booked a havan, it is performed with its agreed number of ahutis. You then join the aarti and receive blessings.
What you and your family do
You join the opening and closing puja while the pandit team completes the japa. Tell us if you want to join remotely.
